Aaron Ruell is a man of many talents. As a photographer, his work has been shown in galleries in Paris, Milan, Buenos Aires and in his native United States. As an actor, he’s best known for his role as Kip Dynamite from the movie Napoleon Dynamite. And as a director, he was recently declared one of the most promising new directors in the world of advertising by Shoot magazine, as well as, “one of the emerging directors to know now” by Creativity.
Ruell has directed award-winning commercials for high-profile clients such as T-Mobile, NBC, Comcast, Nintendo, Coke, Mastercard and Burger King. He was the only filmmaker to have two films, Everything’s Gone Green and Mary, which he wrote and directed, premiere at the 2005 Sundance Film Festival.
Ruell brings a distinct visual style to his filmmaking with unique and highly memorable characters. He’s equally comfortable telling his stories via broad comedy or a subtle and heartwarming visual narrative.
